Councilwoman Kathleen Savas, a 37-year resident of the borough, has been in public service for 30 of those years. Her four children attended The E.H. Bryan School, and Cresskill High School and she and her family were active in school and youth sports activities.
She is currently the Council liaison to Recreation, Community Center, Library, Sanitation, Municipal Alliance, and Borough Offices. In addition she sits on the Personnel Board, Fire and EMS, Police Committee and Office of Emergency Management.
As council member, she has been active in improving Rec programs for residents. She instituted a program to install generators at borough buildings to provide continuing services to residents in case of emergencies. She is working on plans for the Cresskill 9-11 Memorial with Councilwoman Tsagounis, and will be overseeing plans for the upcoming 2019 Cresskill Quasquicentennial activities.
