The Cresskill Fire Department Division of Fire Prevention strives to protect the working and living conditions of the citizens, guests and commercial properties within the Borough of Cresskill. Our office is constantly working towards the goal of protecting the public as well as providing safety to our first responders. The duties of the Division of Fire Prevention include performing fire safety inspections and fire safety-related complaint investigations, as well as offering fire safety education programs to the community. Fire safety inspections include annual Life Hazard Use and Non-Life Hazard Use commercial properties and residential certificates of Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Alarm compliance. The Division also conducts post-fire investigations for all incidents within the Borough. Various fire safety permits such as those required for tents or canopies, use of an open flame, and food trucks are also issued and inspected by the Division of Fire Prevention.
